Happy New Year everyone!
Even though we spent New Year’s in a very un-cruiser-like way (working), we did make some resolutions we thought we would share:
Blog more often – my Captain has a goal to blog once a week for our faithful readers, and I have a goal to write a blog post every 2 weeks.
Solo Captain 10 times – this is one of my goals, in order to get myself more comfortable single handing our coastal cruiser.
Try 5 pressure cooker recipes – some cruisers love their pressure cooker, some go without it. I have one that I’ve never used, so I’d like to test it out before we shove off.
See our family more – this especially pertains to our grandparents. We realize that as our grandparents are getting older, it’s more and more imperative that we spend our time with them now, because we will rarely see them after we leave.
Video editing practice – my Captain is going to work on his video editing skills, so we can more easily prepare videos for our blog while out adventuring.
Overnight sail on our coastal cruiser – while we have plenty of day sails under our belt, we have never slept in shifts and sailed over night. That’s on our list of experiences to gain!
Brush up on our Spanish – last year, my Captain gave me Rosetta Stone Spanish for Christmas and I gave him Spanish for Cruisers. Now we need to make a commitment to sit down twice a week and study!
Sell $1,000 worth of stuff – We have a lot of junk just lying around, and it wouldn’t be the worlds worst thing to work on getting rid of things we don’t use on a regular basis.
Take a marine diesel maintenance course – we’re not sure where or when, but we both would like to know more about our engines.
Go offshore fishing – fishing a lot while we are out cruising is one thing, but catching a lot of fish while we are out cruising is another. We recently got The Cruiser’s Handbook of Fishing, so reading that is on our list too.
Did we leave off anything?
